When you sign up for Resume Refiner, we ask for your email address and password. We need this information to create your account, authenticate you, and keep your account secure.

Resume and job description content

When you upload your resume or provide job descriptions, we store this content to provide our core service: analyzing your resume against job requirements and generating improvement suggestions. We process this content using AI services to generate personalized recommendations. Your resume content is never used to train AI models or shared with other users.

Geolocation data

We log your IP address when you sign up and when you access your account. We use this information for security purposes and to prevent abuse of our service. IP addresses are retained while your account is active.

Website analytics

We track basic analytics about how you use our website to help us improve the product. This includes pages visited, features used, and general usage patterns. This data is associated with your account when you're signed in.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. These are essential for the service to function properly.

When we access or disclose your information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We don't share your resume content or personal information with anyone except in the following circumstances:

  • To provide our service: We use Anthropic's Claude API to analyze your resume and generate suggestions. Your content is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing but is not used for training their models.
  • To comply with the law: We will only disclose your information when legally required to do so. If we receive a valid legal request for your information, we will notify you unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
  • To prevent abuse: If we detect activity that violates our terms of service or appears to be fraudulent or harmful, we may investigate and take appropriate action.
  • With your permission: If you explicitly ask us to share your information, we will do so.

Your rights with respect to your information

You have the right to:

  • Access: You can access all of your resume content and account information at any time by logging into your account.
  • Correction: You can update or correct your personal information at any time through your account settings.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Once deleted, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 60 days.
  • Portability: You can download your resume and all generated suggestions at any time.
  • Objection: You have the right to object to processing of your personal information for specific purposes.

How we secure your data

All data transmitted to and from Resume Refiner is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS. We store your data in secure, industry-standard databases. Your password is hashed and never stored in plain text. We regularly review our security practices and update them as needed.

Data retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete specific resume refinements, they are removed immediately. If you cancel your account, all of your data will be permanently deleted within 60 days.

Location of data

Our infrastructure is located in the United States. By using Resume Refiner, you consent to having your data transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of Resume Refiner after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
